リチュアル ザ クラフツでは、水引のもつ、儀礼などの伝統的側面と、描くという個人的側面を親和させて作品を制作しています。
水引を伝統工芸品としてだけで捉えるのではなく、社会との関わりの中で変化していく鋭敏な素材と考え、新しい可能性を探求しています。アトリエは制作者・仲田慎吾の出身地である長野県飯田市。飯田市は水引産業の町としても知られています。

今回の展示では一点もののオブジェ、フラワーベース、ジュエリーが100点以上、HAGISOの空間に並びます。

2016年に出身地である飯田市に移住し、水引美術RITUAL the craftsの活動を開始する。

“New STORY”
水引のあたらしい物語

600年頃、中国から持ち帰られた献上品に巻かれていた紐を、
日本人が贈答品の装飾と捉えたことが水引の始まりと云われています。
一本の水引に、日本人は精神性を託し、色や結び方など様々な趣向を凝らし、
ひとつの文化・芸術として物語を生みました。
RITUALではその創造性と、現代に生きる感覚を大切にし、
水引のあたらしい物語を生み出していきたいと思います。

Arts drawn and created by “Mizuhiki” strings. ​

“Mizuhiki” is a decorative string made out of paper and silk,
which has been inherited as a Japanese traditional culture expressing Japanese beauty since 600 AD.
One string becomes one surface. The surface finally forms the shape,
which is the moment of becoming “Mizuhiki Arts” Since the ancient ages,
Japanese has used Mizuhiki strings for important festivals and ceremonies.
Those Japanese spirits and traditions are embraced into our arts combined together
with the original creativity of “RITUAL the crafts”
We try to produce the art works nobody has seen before
by means of pushing the limit of possibilities of ”Mizuhiki”.
The atelier of RITUAL is located at Iida city in Nagano prefecture
where known as the industry of Mizuhiki strings.
We deliver our arts to all over Japan from Iida city.
